Excavator guidance · System
XFIX EX30
Bucket tip position on a screen in the cab, to better than 3 cm, referenced to your design surface. The base stays magnet-mounted on the stick, the instrument comes off at the end of the day, and the whole system talks to its own base over radio — so it keeps working where there is no cell signal.

How it works
Four boxes, one bucket tip
The instrument on the stick, an attitude unit on the bucket, a base on the ground and a screen in the cab. Here is what each one does.
EX30 on the stick
1408 channels · RTK ±8 mm + 1 ppm
The instrument itself: GNSS, an inertial module and the radio in one aluminium housing. It splits from its base, so the triple-magnet base stays clamped to the stick and the instrument comes off for charging. Nothing to re-calibrate when it goes back on.
BS05 on the bucket
±0.2° inclination · ±1° heading
A sealed attitude unit that reads the bucket's angle and sends it over Bluetooth. No wiring, no drilling. Its own battery runs about 720 hours, which is roughly three months at eight hours a day.
EX30B on the ground
Ø 134 mm · 750 g · > 10 h
The base station. It broadcasts corrections to the instrument over the built-in radio out to about 5 km, so the machine keeps a fix on sites with no cell coverage at all.
AT80 in the cab
10.1 in · 750 cd/m² · IP65
A vehicle-grade display, bright enough to read through a cab window, on 5 to 36 V machine power. Graphical guidance means one operator works the design surface without a grade checker in the trench.

Manufacturer's published figures: XFIX EX30 and EX30B datasheets, and the EX30, EX30B, BS05 and AT80 product pages, 2026. Accuracy values are RMS under XFIX's stated conditions. XFIX notes that parameters may be updated; ask us for the current sheet before you rely on one figure. Machine classes and accepted surface formats are not published — ask us and we will confirm against your machine and your drawings.
The kit
What a system is made of
Sold as a working set. The instrument is the part with the model number on it; the other three are what make it useful on a machine.
EX30
The instrument. GNSS, inertial module, radio and battery on a magnetic base.
EX30B
The base station. Broadcasts corrections out to about 5 km.
BS05
The bucket attitude unit. Bluetooth, no wiring, about 720 hours a charge.
AT80
The cab display. 10.1 in, 750 cd/m², runs on machine power.
