Pond bathymetry and slope survey, Richmond Hill

Pond bathymetry in Richmond Hill: slopes shot with a Spherefix base and rover, then the rover’s NMEA output positioned the sonar on the water.

The objective

Survey a pond’s side slopes and its bottom, so both join into one surface.

Setup

The Spherefix base and rover localized the site, then shot all the slopes around the pond. For the water, the rover went on the boat, and its NMEA output fed the sonar, so every depth reading carried a Spherefix position. It worked without a hitch.

What it produced

One surface from the top of bank to the pond floor, with the land and the water positioned by the same Spherefix GNSS.
